Our preschool program has been updated with an exciting new syllabus that involves tap and ballet, basic technique, and creative components that give the dancers a great base for a dance future here at our studio. Combo Classes are designed to be developmental in nature. Combo classes give 3-5 year old’s creative development, rhythmic skills and a foundation for motor development as well as FUN!!! This class allows children to move freely and develop a love of dance. Preschool dancers will do two routines at the end of the year showcase.
Preschool Dancer Attire Requirements:
Bodysuit (any color), tights (any color), black tap shoes, PINK ballet slippers, a skirt or a tutu is not mandatory but suggested to help with arm placement and for fun! Hair should be secured in a ponytail/bun/braid if possible or at least away for their face.
Suggested retailers: Dance Unlimited 519-944-9001, Walmart (many locations to serve), Gumballs and Overalls (local consignment shop).
Acro Dance is a style of acrobatics used specifically for dancers. It is a genre of dance which seamlessly fuses elements of lyrical gymnastic skills, balancing, tumbling, and jazz. Students learn Acrobatic Skills such as handstands, cartwheels, chest stands, elbow stands, walkovers, side and front aerial, and tumbling lines.
Acro Fusion
High school age dancers and young adults looking to build their strength, flexibility and enhance their acro abilities in their choreography are encouraged to sign up for this innovative class led by one of RDA’s certified Acrobatic Arts Instructors. They will enjoy weekly 45 minute lessons that are geared towards achieving dancer specific goals and improving unique skills that will help add performance value to their dancing.
Acro Dress Code: Hair neatly secured in a low-pony or bun, Form fitted tank top or body suit, Full-length or cropped tights or leggings, Shorts permitted with tights under, Best executed barefoot – No dance shoes or socks.
Ballet training is the foundation of dance. It teaches proper placement, alignment, balance, technique and control. Ballet is the core to all forms of dance. Focus on body positioning, center and barre work and vocabulary/terminology. A great class for any student aged 6 and up. Classes are offered from Primary, to Cecchetti I – V, Intermediate, Advanced, Pre-Pointe to Advanced Pointe.
Adult Ballet is also offered on a progressive and graded syllabus.
Dress Code: Body suit, dance top, yoga/work out top (fitted), dance shorts (respectable length), skirt if you are a demo. Capri or full-length tights. Advanced level ballet class teachers may request body suit and tights with hair in a bun. Please respect their wishes. Pink ballet slippers must be worn with hair up.

Pointe is offered to those students who have mastered the knowledge and technique of ballet and are ready for the next level. You must maintain good attendance in your classes and continue to show dedication here at the studio to achieve great results. Instructor approval is needed. Pointe dancers, demonstrate commitment and dedication towards the art of ballet and the potential to grow as a ballerina. Dancers will need to purchase a pair of pointe shoes. This is just the beginning of a new found freedom and love you will have for the art of ballet.
Dancers will need: pointe shoes, ribbon, elastic and toe pads (your choice of type and style varies by dancer comfort and preference), and ballet pink adapt-a-toe tights.

Hip-Hop is a stylized, fast paced form of dance that involves some of today’s most innovative and trendsetting moves set to upbeat music with some different technical aspects. Hip Hop is the style most frequently seen on television and in music videos. Movements are fast and funky! We offer All Boys classes in varying age ranges.
Dress Code: T-shirts, Hoodies, Hats, Leggings, Sweatpants, Clean running shoes (No Jeans or Shorts)
In jazz, the focus is on strength, technique, and basic theory. Dancers will learn isolation’s, pirouettes, proper technique for kicks, leaps, and fun routines that put this all together. Classes are available for all levels and dancers will be placed at the correct level of ability. Catherine developed the syllabus for jazz and method of teaching herself!
Dress Code: Body Suit, Dance Top, Fitted Workout/Yoga Top, Dance Shorts (respectable length), Skirt (if you are a demonstrator), Dance pants, Capri or Full (but not hazardous), BLACK Jazz Shoes Required (No Sweatpants or Jeans)
Lyrical is a form of creative expression, it is story set in motion. This form of dance is a fusion of ballet, jazz and modern styles which combines one’s own expression along with technical skills. A small portion of this class will involve important stretching components to improve flexibility. Every dancer must have a solid dance base for this class and are encouraged to take jazz or ballet as well. Dancers will be placed at the teacher’s discretion.
Dress Code: Body Suit, Dance Top, Fitted Workout/Yoga Top, Dance Shorts (respectable length), Skirt (if you are a demonstrator), Dance pants, Capri or Full (but not hazardous), Bare feet or foot paws are permitted, (No Sweatpants or Jeans)
Tap is all about rhythm! Tap is an exciting and challenging form of dance that creates sounds, rhythm and syncopation with your feet. It helps with coordination and timing! Classes offered at all levels including Beginner Tap, Tap Levels 1-8 and Adult Tap. We teach the Al Gilbert syllabus for tap and advanced grades also learn unseen technique as well.

We offer two styles of dance for adults including Ballet & Tap class. Why take dance classes as an adult? It keeps you moving and active! Dance will increase your energy, confidence, and self-esteem. Learning the choreography helps improve memory, posture, balance and overall appearance. Keeping active keeps you feeling stress free and happy, just an hour each week to forget all your troubles as you dance your cares away! You’ll meet new people and gain insight into other cultures through the various styles of dance. Take time for yourself and have some fun!

Pathway to Potential
Every child deserves the chance to dance. Pathway to Potential (P2P) recognizes and promotes the full participation of all Windsor-Essex residents in recreational, cultural and artistic programs and services regardless of financial circumstances. P2P, in partnership with the Town of Amherstburg and County of Essex provides the 90% Recreation Discount Program. This program is designed to assist Amherstburg residents living in low-income households to register and participate in organized, quality recreation, culture and artistic activities by offering fee subsidies.
The Fine Print
- A 25% deposit for your classes is due at time of registration. Within a week of your registration, you will receive an invoice with your balance owing and it will include any discounts or monthly payment fees.
- Any credits applied to your family dance account will expire during the registration season in the preceding dance season.
- Any discounts will be taken off of the pre HST and costume prices . There is no costume fee for Adult Classes or Exam Classes.
